I've been inspired by my Halloween skeleton cut-out to do something special for the 'focal wall' in the dining area. I've come up with a crazy pattern.
Before I actually paint it on, I'm trying it out in Photoshop...
I cut out a paper skeleton and bats for the living room window, which cast lovely shadows behind the new Japanese paper blinds. I like them so much I don't want to take them down. Guess I'll have to start making snowflakes for winter window decorations...
I've been kind of overwhelmed with all the work inside the house, so have only done the minimal amount (or maybe even less than that) to the outside. I've vowed to do better next year.
At last, the tenants are gone, and I can see the main floor as it really is - lots of open space, hardwood floors, and big windows. I can't wait to get in and repaint it all (in Dry Fern from Behr). Closing date is May 31, so not long now.
The 2-bedroom basement apartment is newly renovated, with all wood laminate floors, lots of windows and recessed pot lights with dimmer switches, giving it the feeling of a new condo unit. It has a brand-new bathroom, a very large kitchen, and an open concept dining room, office and living room. It has private laundry, parking in driveway, is only a six-minute walk to the Warden subway station (which is just 20 minutes from downtown Yonge & Bloor), and has access to the fully fenced backyard.
The main floor level (where I will be living) needs updating, but has lots of potential: 3 bedrooms, large living/dining room with huge south-facing windows, hardwood floors. Top of the list to renovate will be the older kitchen and bathroom.
